Course Objectives: At the completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. | Compare holistic health, health promotion, and wellness. |
2. | Digram Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. |
3. | Describe eustress, distress, and the three stages of the General Adaptation Syndrome. |
4. | Describe the recommended frequency, intensity, and duration of a cardiovascular fitness program. |
5. | Define the seven classes of nutrients and differentiate between those that provide the body with calories and those that do not. |
6. | Discuss the concepts of body image, overweight, and obesity. |
7. | Describe the process of addiction including tolerance and cross-tolerance. |
8. | Explain the risk factors for cardiovascular disease that can be changed as well as those that cannot be changed. |

Class Attendance and Make-up Work: Participation is necessary in each of the weekly assignments in order to pass the class. Additionally, you MUST be present on campus to take the Mid-Term Exam (Week 8) and the Final Exam (Week 16). Scheduled tests and assignment/quizs will not be changed and anyone not completing them will not be allowed to make them up. The student is responsible for obtaining access to this online course, including all notes, assignments, and quizs, through the use of the internet.
Student Responsibilities: The student is responsible for attending the online class EVERY WEEK. If a student should miss class/week, the information will remain online for one(1) week following the due date for the assignment/quiz.
